THE PATH
hamaara yoga
TO A PEACEFUL LIFE.

meaning
Hamaara Yoga means "our yoga" in Hindi,
because we believe that
yoga belongs to everybody
and is for every body.
mission
The mission of the Hamaara Yoga method is to
take the intimidation out of yoga,
and teach it as originally intended:
a way of life, not a workout.
mindset
We are a community of people seeking growth, connection, authenticity, and kindness.
Who want to learn skills, tools, and knowledge to ditch hustle culture and live healthier, happier lives.
And to connect with others who are on a similar journey.
our practice works
on 3 levels
body
mind
soul
We teach true balance.
Strength and flexibility.
Challenge and recovery. Growth and healing.
We teach you to calm your anxious, distracted, overwhelmed, or stressed out mind.
We teach you to connect with your inner teacher to build a better life
for yourself.

difference
on the mat
We sequence our classes so that they feel good for all bodies,
not just the bendy ones.
Hamaara cues are down-to-earth and easy to understand.
There's no woo-woo or confusing imagery.
And we'll *never* tell you to breathe into your toes, or anywhere else you can't breathe into.
We teach you how to use your props to customize the practice to your body.
In Hamaara Yoga, props are powerful tools, and we use them proudly.
There are no mirrors in Hamaara studios.
What matters is how the pose feels, not how it looks.
Hamaara classes are never heated.
We want our classes to be comfortable for all bodies.
Hamaara teachers actually teach, rather than just demoing on our mats.
We watch you while you practice and offer assists and guidance to help you achieve the intention of each pose in the way that suits your body best.
When you practice Hamaara Yoga, our rule is: No Yogi Left Behind.
off the mat
The full power of Hamaara Yoga is unlocked
when you carry its teachings off the mat with you.
Anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, burnout, exhaustion, loneliness, grief...
all can be soothed - and even healed - through our practice.
We don't just teach the poses.
We teach you all 8 limbs of the yoga practice.
The philosophy, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation
combine with the movement to create
a powerful toolset for handling all of life's challenges and surprises.
The spiritual guidance of the Yoga Sutras teaches us how to live a peaceful life in a way that goes hand in hand with whatever your personal religion or beliefs may be.
Hamaara Yoga is a way of life, not a workout.

our values:the 8 limbs
of hamaara yoga
inclusivity
connection
We serve all bodies, not just the bendy ones.
With yourself and a community of like-minded folks.
No gurus and no show-offs.
For ourselves, each other, and the roots of this practice.
We teach you to hear, trust, and follow your own inner teacher.
Old and new. Slow and fast. Soft and strong. East and west.
This is yoga for real life. It's a practice designed to help you feel your best every day, and equip you with tools to deal with life's daily challenges.
Hamaara Yoga is based on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which teach us that yoga is a path to a peaceful life, not just a way to move your body.
